The Local Pest Experts team outside the new Taree office

A family business from Taree

A family business that started in Taree

We look after homes and businesses from Tea Gardens to Port Macquarie. The team lives here too.

In 1997 Duane and Therese Chapman left their jobs in Coffs Harbour and moved their young family here. They wanted to give Taree and Forster a standard of pest control the area didn't have.

More than 20 years and a lot of blood, sweat and tears later, it's one of the largest family-owned pest control businesses on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Duane and Therese retired in October 2019 and their sons, Trent and Tristen, took over. The values haven't changed: service, professionalism, quality, reliability and honesty.

Trent

Owner–operator

Trent grew up in the family business, helping install termite monitoring stations during school holidays from the age of 12.

With parents who had a passion for the pest control industry and their customers, it was only a matter of time before Duane and Therese’s middle son followed suit. He signed up for his pest control traineeship at 15 and became engrossed in an industry with more below the surface than meets the eye.

In October 2019, Trent and Tristen took over ownership following their parents’ retirement. Trent loves the customer interaction, knowledge building and problem-solving that come with each day.

Supporting locals

The clubs, schools and causes we’ve backed.

Over the years we’ve backed local sporting clubs, schools and community groups.

In 2022 that list included Taree West Public School, Cundletown Hockey Club, First Steps Count, Manning Valley Cycle Club, and local football, golf, bowls and basketball clubs. We also joined Le Tour De Taree for Club Taree and Ronald McDonald House, and put a team in a mixed netball competition. See the full list.

In 2020, a tough year for plenty of people, our Supporting Locals giveaway asked you to nominate someone who deserved a win. The prize was a free pest control service.
